Strategi Peningkatan Produksi Ternak Besar Berbasiskan Pengembangan Padang Penggembalaan di Kabupaten Poso

Peningkatan Produksi ternak besar berbasiskan pengembangan padang penggembalaan di Kabupaten Poso hanya dapat dilakukan pada wilayah Lore dan Pamona, yang mempunyai potensi padang pengembalaan alam (PPA) cukup luas yaitu ± 44.000 ha,  dengan topografi relatif datar sampai landai (wilayah Lore) dan lebih berbukit-bukit (wilayah Pamona), yang ditumbuhi hijauan dengan tinggi hamparan antara 15 – 100 cm tanpa pepohonan.

This study was intended to explore prospective productivity and development opportunity of Grazing Lands Used by Groups of Beef Cattle Farmers in Napu Valley in the District of Poso. Data were collected from the study are and they included botanical composition, forage production, carrying capacity and nutritional quality of the forage. The data was obtained by destructive sampling technique where the vegetation were cut, and then analyzed in the laboratory.
